Structural and operational features of modular buildings
This type of building is a structure consisting of the following elements:

• Supporting metal frame, which is welded or mounted with the help of shaped fasteners. Its basis consists of steel channels, angles, profile pipes, providing rigidity and high load-bearing capacity, which allows the construction of two- and three-storey objects of different layouts. The frame is coated with anticorrosive protective compositions, which ensures its durability.
• External cladding made of sandwich panels or CIP (structural insulating panel) – their high thermal and sound insulation characteristics are the basis of comfort for people inside the premises;
• Interior decorative cladding – different types of wagons, LDF, OSB and other sheet materials can be used;
• Engineering equipment – lighting, plumbing. They can be installed optionally at the customer’s request.

The main advantages of such buildings are fast assembly, relatively low price, and freedom of layout. Despite the fact that the parameters of each basic module are the same, their arbitrary connection makes it possible to obtain architecturally complex buildings.
Types of modular buildings and areas of application
Classify these structures can be classified mainly by areas of application and specifics of engineering and technical equipment:

• Office and domestic – these are temporary offices on construction sites in cottage settlements or on the territory of built-up residential areas, huts for workers. Shift buildings are characterized by a higher level of comfort.
• Specialized – to accommodate compressor, refrigeration, generator or other equipment.
• Warehouse – simple modules designed to store raw materials, products, tools, etc.
• Sanitary – field medical stations, sanitary facilities (toilets, showers, baths).
• Mobile – on a wheeled base, as well as prefabricated and collapsible.

The areas of application are practically unlimited. Modular buildings can be used for temporary or permanent offices, huts and entire shift camps with canteens, utility blocks, medical stations. They are also suitable for the organization of warehouses, small production facilities, car service boxes, small retail outlets.
